Happy day of the Eclipse to the friends of Iris X Readings! There is certainly a lot happening in the world. From a Total Solar Eclipse to an Earthquake, it is an interesting week in Brattleboro, VT where I live- and probably where you are too. We hardly catch our breath between events these days, and with Mercury retrograde in Aries, it is likely that we are speaking before we have time to think. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. It is a bit of an intense reading, but this matches with the events of the world. This reading was done on The Raven's Dream Tarot by MJ Cullinane. You don't have to know me too well to guess that I absolutely adore this deck. I love the theme, of course. But I also really like the interpretation of the cards and the color pallette used. Read on and see if this reading is for you or someone that you know. Or perhaps- it is for all of us in some way.
The reading begins with The Wheel of Fortune. This is the card of Fate, and if this is your reading, you probably feel like things are spinning much too fast. It's hard to maintain equilibrium on a spinning wheel, and yet that is all that you can do. With the Wheel of Fortune, the larger pattern of the Universe becomes clear in your life, and you can see the threads that you are weaving in with your actions.
The Five of Wands is a card of working and pushing through challenges. It is facing what is in front of you and pushing back at it. With the Five of Wands, there is a conflict or fight- but it is for a higher purpose. Something good will come from it all, even if that is difficult to see in the middle of it all. You are standing up and fighting, even if exhausted.
The High Priestess appears next to present you with a gate that she guards. If you walk through it, your life will change. This is a card of intuition and the power to know without knowing. What do you feel? What do you know to be true? Where are your instincts leading you? You have a form of 'clear knowing' when you see this card. Trust yourself. And if you come upon a gate, walk through it.
The key to this reading is the Four of Swords. You have to know when to rest and take a break. The experience that happens before the Four of Swords is one of pain and heartache. You can't keep pushing forward all the time without taking some time to recover and care for your own needs. And just as much as you need to know when to take a break- you need to know when to get back up and join the world again. It is a fine balance.
Here's what I see. Your world is upside down and spinning. Sometimes it rights itself and makes sense. During those times, things seem to go your way. And then at other times, you are upside down and don't know how to get out of the predicament that you are in. You are not in control of the situation, and the winds of fate are weaving into your life. All you can do is get through every day. It seems like there is conflict after conflict; in your personal life and in the world around you. You hope that your work and effort are for a higher purpose and amounts to something- and it will. For now, you are reaching a gateway and time of change, and you have to walk through the gate that the High Priestess presents to you. You have solid intuition and you know where you are going. But, before this happens- there is a rest. A break that is good for the soul. You have to recover from the battles of the day. You are standing up and fighting, and you have to put your guard down and rest so that you can keep up the battle. Pay good attention to your intuition right now- and let it lead the way. Don't try to make anything happen- it's a good time to just go with the flow.
