Iris X Reading of the week/Week beginning on 8/10/26:
Happy Monday to the friends of Iris X Readings. One of the best things about the work that I do is that I am always meeting other readers out in the world. There are so many wonderful people who do readings of all kinds- always unique characters that I am proud to know. Through these people, I get all kinds of recommendations for Tarot decks. A fellow reader and fb friend of mine, Drew Clark, helped to inspire the imagery in The Slow Tarot by Lacey Bryant. It is an enchanting deck that makes me feel a bit like I have stepped into a fairy tale. It has become a favorite of mine for its beautiful colors and deep imagery. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know!
The reading begins with the Eight of Coins. This is a card of skill, creativity, and perfecting something by way of repetition. If this is your reading, you are working on a skill or craft that keeps your mind focused and peaceful. It may seem repetitive at times, but it is serving more than one purpose. It is good for your mind and sense of peace. And every time you do this craft, you get better at it. And through that, you are really growing your skill. There are some challenging cards in this reading, and I think that you do well if you just work and keep your mind focused.
The Ten of Swords comes up next. You are at the end of a cycle that caused you a lot of pain and challenge. You have traveled through our most challenging suit of the Tarot deck, and you are on the other side of it now. You are feeling battered and exhausted. Like you have really been put through it. It has been one thing after another for a really long time, and the Swords suit has left you feeling battered and beat. You are coming to the close of the suit here, but that doesn't make it feel any better right now.
The High Priestess comes up next pointing towards the need for peace and balance. You are wise to stay silent, focused and clear right now. Your intuition is strong, and you will find that you know what to do if you can settle your mind. With the Priestess, you are going through a life changing experience and walking through a gate. Nothing will be the same on the other side, but given the last card in the reading- I think that is ok. Spiritual practice, ritual, reading, meditation and quiet spaces will serve you well right now.
The key to this reading is The Hanged Man. You can't make things move any faster than they are moving right now- this is a card of suspension. You are at a crossroads and on the brink of major change in your life. With this card, you find wisdom in this time of waiting. You are able to look at things from a different perspective and flip it all upside down. It is a time of change, but you are in the waiting period where there is nothing you can do except let things go their course. The change is already in progress, you just have to hang. And while you do, there are a lot of insights that may pop up.
Here's what I see. On a larger level- you are going through a really big change right now. But it's not happening as fast as you would like it to. You have been through so much, and have been trying to find the sense of the challenges that you have faced. You feel hurt and drained of every bit of your energy, but you have to continue to move forward. You don't have a choice. There are bigger forces at work here, but the day to day existence of it is really exhausting and painful. You are almost there. This has been a really long path to get you to this place. And that makes the waiting harder. Having to suspend yourself and take deep breaths and wait is not an easy task right now. All of the Major arcana cards in this reading suggest silence and seeking guidance through intuition and insight while at this time of change. This isn't easy to do though, and it can be hard to focus. This is where the skills and crafts come in. Just keep your head low for the time and work on things that keep you calm and focused. Learn a new skill or perfect a craft. Occupy your mind with your projects and it will help you get through this time of suspension and silence. Listen to your gut along the way. When your mind is focused on other things, you may have insights that pop up out of nowhere. You have been going through a hard time, and there is a lot that has to filter down now. Be patient with yourself and stay busy.
If you need a reading this week, send a message soon! I have very limited openings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Have a great week, and if this is your reading- hang in there. I hope this helps.
