Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 7/6/26:

Hello to the friends of Iris X Readings! This week, I am working with The Avian Tarot by Britany Lyn Batchelder. It is a great deck of 78 different birds for the cards. It often challenges me to learn something about nature that I had not known before. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I do this every week, and I never know if it is a reading for one person or a collective of people. Or for me! I shuffle the cards and see what happens to start every week. Read on and see if this one is for you or someone that you know!

The reading begins with the II of Swords/Burrowing Owl. If this is your reading, you may feel silenced or held back. It is a card of stillness. It's not that anything bad is happening, it is that there just doesn't seem to be any movement forwards or backwards. You are in the in between. This is a good time to meditate, find peace and take walks. Look on the inside for some answers. There isn't much you can do at the moment, but if you are still and quiet- there may be some valuable wisdom to learn.

The Eight of Pentacles/Eurasian Coot appears next. While you are in a time of stillness, it is good to keep focused. This is a card of skill building and hard work. It is not about growing in leaps and bounds, it is about perfecting what you are doing through repetition. Stay focused and engaged in the tasks and skills you are working with. Learn a new craft. It you are still, use your time wisely.

The IX of Wands/Penguin shows you feeling on guard and a bit defensive right now. You feel like you are off on your own, and you are guarding yourself from upset or harm. You feel like you want to guard what is yours. You are in a position where you have been hurt by someone or something, and you are just waiting for what is next. You feel ready to fight if you have to, and like you are having a hard time resting or finding peace. You are on your feet, managing a lot. But it is taking a toll and making you want more time alone.

The key to this reading is The Chariot/Alpine Swift. The stillness right now is likely to lift as you move forward. This is a card of movement, action, and accomplishing your goals. It is about focusing your energy on perfecting what you are doing so that you can move forward with success. You are feeling like you are stuck, and The Chariot shows that this feeling won't last. You have just been working really hard, and you feel like you are ready to see some reward for what you have been accomplishing. The Chariot tells you that this will happen soon. Where things feel stuck, they start to move. In fact- you may even be moving and making progress even while feeling like you are not.

Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you feel like something is at a standstill in your life. It is starting to make you feel irritable and defensive. You want to move forward and you feel like nothing ever changes. But while you are feeling still, you are actually working quite hard. You are in a space where you have some time to cultivate skills and perfect them. But you feel like you have been doing that for a really long time, and you are ready for advancement. And the longer things don't move, the more defensive you feel. Be assured that this time period is just a phase. Things are about to pick up- and fast. Keep doing what you are doing. Use the stillness to your advantage and perfect what you do. You are about to start feeling the momentum in your life again, and you will move forward after a time where nothing seems to be changing one way or the other. Hang in there- your work and focus will be paying off soon.
