Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 7/13/26:
There are weeks that I want to challenge myself with new decks and complicated systems. Today is not one of those days. Today, I wanted something comfortable and familiar. I went with my very first Tarot deck- a Universal Waite Tarot that I was gifted in 1995. It is old and tattered. It is dirty! It is bendy and sticks together. I have made many proclamations that I am going to retire this deck. And here I am, using it now. I love it. It reminds me of the beginning of a most enchanting path. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it is for until I post it- read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know.
The reading begins with the II of Pentacles. If this is your reading, you are a juggler and performer. Not in the literal sense but in the way that you manage your life. You have a lot to do, and you juggle it all and make it look Much easier than it really is. You keep many things going at once, and if someone looks at you they can't even tell that it is causing you stress. That is where the performer aspect of this card comes into play. You don't show stress or challenge; you just do it. And just like juggling, if you stop for too long or ask for help, you may just lose your rhythm causing everything to come crashing down. And so, you stay in motion. You maintain the dance.
With the VIII of Swords, you feel like you are trapped into a pattern that you can't get out of. But nothing is currently holding you where you are except for yourself. You have been hurt and mistreated- you did not build the trap for yourself. But at some point, you started to maintain it. It is time to look at what is happening in your life, and if it has to continue the way that it has been. If there is a place that you are trapped that you can escape- it is time to do that. If you look at the card, the tide is coming in- it's important to get out of the trap you have found yourself in.
The VII of Wands comes up next, showing a future of being very overwhelmed. You are stretched thin. In this image, the person is wearing one shoe and one boot. You will continue to be overwhelmed until you make a change. You are doing far too much at a time, and it is beginning to take a toll on you. It is important that you are able to rest in your life- you can't keep moving like this all of the time. You are upright and getting where you are going, but you are knocking yourself out.
The key to this reading is Temperance. What can you do to take an edge off and temper your situation down. Where can you bring it all down a notch? This is a card of finding the correct balance to stay calm. One foot in the water, and one on land- you get things done in a state of peace. Tempering is a skill that takes some work to perfect. But you can't keep moving as fast as you have been. Something has to give. How can you bring it all down a little and get some peace?
Here's what I see. This is the reading for a person who has the weight of the world on their shoulders, but never shows the world how hard it is. You have been doing too much for so long that it all feels exhausting. You feel like you don't have a choice. And like it has to be this way. But the cards are saying that you are not as trapped as you may think. There is a way out of the chaos that has been controlling your life. You will continue to feel overwhelmed until you make a change. The first thing you need to do is to temper down the amount of things that you are doing. You have too much happening at once. You can't make that all go away, but you can bring it down a notch. It is important for you to feel Much more calm than you have been feeling. You have been stretched for far too long, and it is time to get out of the trap that you are in. It will mean that you have to put down the things that you have been doing, and find places where you can take a break and rest. You can't keep this up for too much longer, and there is a solution if you think outside the box. Just bring the chaos in your life down by one degree a day. Live a life that is peaceful and in balance.
