Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 6/29/26
This week, I decided to work with a deck that challenges me a bit! The Minchiate al Cigno is a deck from 1775, created in Bologna. Instead of the traditional 78 cards, this deck has 97 with additions of the Virtues, Elements, and Astrological signs. The order and the numbers are not what is familiar, and there are no words on the cards. It's hard to work with- and really, a very cool deck. So, I am working on learning to work with it! I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone that will see this post. It may be a reading for many people, or just one. Sometimes I find out later that it was for me! Read on and see if it is for you or someone that you know.
The reading begins with The Star. This is the card of healing and energy that can finally move again after a long time of being stuck. The Star is a card of inspiration and feeling like you have a new life ahead of you. If this is your reading, you have gone through a hard challenge that has tested your patience and stability. It has felt like it will never end or change- until it does. This is a card that finds you in a place where you are Just starting to feel better again. You are feeling more creative and alive, and seeing opportunities all around you. It's about time; you really need this.
The VIII of Pentacles is next with a reminder to focus on one task at a time. This can be about learning a new craft or skill, or mastering something by way of repetition. This is an activity that keeps your mind peaceful and engaged while you accomplish something important. With the VIII of Pentacles, you master something by working at it and doing the same thing over and over until you get better. This can also be a reminder to finish tasks- focus on one thing at a time til you have gotten everything done.
Temperance appears next with a reminder to stay balanced and centered. Hold everything lightly, and don't take anything too seriously. With this card, it is best to avoid extremes. Mix up the right recipe for yourself, and don't get pulled around by anyone. Stay grounded with one foot on the land , and compassionate with one foot in the water. Stay calm and clear in your reactions. If you feel yourself going to a place of extremes, temper down a bit. Be easy on yourself and find a baseline of clarity and peace.
The key to this reading is the Ace of Pentacles. There is an opportunity that you are going to be presented with, and it is a very good one. It is likely something that you have worked very hard for. Now, you are handed the chance to manifest the things that you have been dreaming up. This is a card of being handed what you need to move forward and work things out in your life. But it is only an opportunity. It will be up to you to recognize it, take it, and run with it. It is an Ace; you will accomplish your goals if you accept it.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you are in the process of healing after something really sapped the life out of you. You are feeling creative and inspired in your life again. Everything that was stuck and frozen is finally moving again, and you are grateful. Focus on your projects and tasks, and do one thing at a time. There is no need to be extreme about anything that you are doing, just work on it. Be calm, balanced, and at peace. Refuse to be dragged into panic and upset. Take a breath and temper everything down a notch. And while you do- pay very close attention. There is something that you have been wanting for a very long time, and it is about to appear in front of you as an Ace. Pay attention so that you do not miss this. It is something that you have been seeking for quite some time. So, allow things to move again in your life and follow your inspiration. Work on some tasks and crafts. Stay calm- and don't miss that Ace when it pops up.
