Iris X reading of the week/week beginning on 6/8/26:
This week's reading was done on a sweet Tarot deck called the Tarot of the Woodland creatures. It is whimsical and sweet, and I really like a lot of the animal associations. I shuffled the deck and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know, and share!
The reading begins with the Four of Cups. You may be feeling a bit vague and apathetic lately. You don't know what you want to do. There are opportunities present, but you don't know if you want to take them. There are people that want to get to know you, but you feel like you just want to be alone. You are not feeling social, and the opportunities that come up for friendship or engagement feel like just one more thing to do. You are tired, and trying to appreciate what you have in your life, and you are not sure if you want to add anyone that may cause unnecessary upset for you. You are trying to remain in control of your situation emotionally, and just feeling a bit bored and like you don't know what you want to do.
The next card is the Nine of Swords, and it may be contributing to the first card! You are feeling anxious and like you are overthinking everything. You feel stuck in a negative cycle that you can't get out of. You don't want to trouble people in your life by sharing your challenges, so you feel really isolated. When you get quiet and space at the end of the day, you find that you are not able to rest. You try to sleep at night, and you spend the night ruminating instead. You are really exhausted, and not sure how to change anything.
The Nine of Pentacles appears as a bright spot in this reading. You need some space for yourself. If you are not feeling social, don't push yourself. Remember that the plants, trees, bugs and animals around you are your community too. It may be good to take a break from social interaction while also getting some fresh air and space in your life. You are not as alone as you feel when you can go sit under a tree or tend to a garden. Other beings are surrounding you, and may be easier to deal with right now than people are. This is also a card of prosperity, success, and feeling happy and at peace when you are on your own.
The key to this reading is the Queen of Pentacles. It would be grounding and helpful for you to take a walk in the woods. Nature will heal the Queen of Pentacles, and it feels like you have to put your feet on the ground. You have been feeling lost, and the cards suggest that the best place to start to find your way back is to locate the ground that is under you. Begin to pay attention to what is around you. Look at the leaves on the trees, watch the local animals, see if you can hear messages in the wind. You will feel better when you feel rooted to the place you are. Your first two cards show you at risk of floating away.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you haven't been feeling like yourself for a while. You have not been as interested in the things that you used to enjoy doing. You feel ambivalent about letting new people into your life, or even spending time with the people that you know and love. Everything has seemed hard and like something that you don't want to engage in. All day, you push everything away. And then, at night when you try to sleep, everything you pushed away comes flooding back to you and you can't rest. You are not finding peace and balance in your life. And so, the first thing to do is to get out of your house. Take a walk. Interact with the birds around you. Identify a few plants outside of your house. If you don't feel social, then don't push yourself to be. But it is still important to engage with the world around you. There is a lot of life and growth around you, and this can inspire you to do the same. The problem right now is that your feet are not on the ground. You don't know what you want to do. You don't know where to go. You don't know how to decide. And to top it off, your mind is in overdrive and it won't let you take a break. All you can do is wander. Sit under trees. Check out the moss. Do all of the things that will bring you down to the earth so that you can be in the present. Follow your instinct for space; but engage fully still with the world.
