Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 4/13/25:

Happy Spring to the friends of Iris X Readings. Every week, more of the migratory birds come back through Vermont. I like to think of the sky as being full of birds that I can't always see. It adds an element of enchantment to the Spring and Fall too. I shuffled the Avian Tarot by Brittany Bachelder and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it is for until it is posted. There are times that it is for one person and other times it is for many! There are even times that I post a reading only to realize that it was a reading for me. Read on, see if this one's for you!

The reading begins with the Knight of Pentacles/Hawk. If this is your reading, you are being very focused and deliberate right now, but you may feel like things are not moving quickly enough. The Knight of Pentacles sometimes feels like things are tedious and mundane- but it is a card of success through perseverance. Like the saying goes, 'slow and steady wins the race.' You are moving forward with purpose, but may feel a little impatient to get where you are going.

Death/Screech Owl appears next, showing you in a place of serious change and transition. Nothing is ever the same after Death comes into play in a reading. Everything will shift and look very different. You are moving into the next stage of life and may be feeling a little emotional and shaken up as things change faster than you can keep up with.

Nine of Swords/Wallcreeper shows you feeling very anxious about what is going to happen next. You keep a lot of this inside, and you don't share your feelings very often. But you feel on edge about the future right now. You try to rest, and you find that your mind is moving far too fast to relax and find peace. You find yourself awake in the middle of the night, worrying about all of the things that you pushed aside during the day. Your nervous system is very tired.

The key to the reading is The High Priestess/Little Owl. This is a card of finding peace and balance in the center of chaos. Sharpening  your senses and focusing your energy will help you to anticipate what will happen next. This is the card of the gatekeeper, and the little owl sits at the gate in silence. It is up to you to walk through the gate and to keep your feet on the ground and your nerves intact. Follow your gut and your instincts. Work on meditation and not letting your emotions take over. Stay rational, still, and calm. Read the patterns and know what to expect.

Here's what I see. The person that this reading is for is feeling a range of tedium and anxiety. There are times when you just feel like everything is moving so slowly; and other times when you can't keep up with what is going on around you. You are in a time of change, and- it's funny how these major shifts in life can seem so slow and hard to get through. You feel a bit like you are walking through mud to get to where you are going. It is slow going, but you are getting there. More is changing than you think. But if you think about that too much, you feel terribly anxious! The key is to lean into your ability to stay calm no matter what is happening around you. You have a door to walk through, and you can do that slowly or with great anxiety. But it will not change the fact that you are being confronted with major change and transition- and this is hard to manage. Stay calm and peaceful. Work on your skills to be in balance. Meditate and find peace in this time of change. Everything has been either moving too slowly or too quickly- and your task is to balance perfectly in the center of it all. Hang in there- you are living through a challenging time of change.
