Iris X reading of the Week/Week beginning on 9/7/26

Happy late Summer/almost Autumn to the friends of Iris X Readings! It is the most magical time of the year. Goldenrod and Purple Loosestrife line the roads. The Queen Anne's Lace has turned to a bird's nest and the migratory birds have started their journey south. All of nature is reacting to the Sun and the shifting of the seasons. You can feel Autumn in the wind today.

This week, I am working with the Santa Muerte Tarot. It is a favorite of mine! But, I have a funny story before I begin. I recently was using this deck at an event. As I always do, I asked the person to choose the Tarot deck that we would work with, and this is the deck she chose. I quickly told her it was the Santa Muerte Tarot, and she started to shuffle. Now, the reading was actually quite positive. But this woman looks straight terrified. Pale, shaking, staring at me. I finally asked if she was ok. She said, 'is it normal to get the Death card over and over?' I was momentarily confused- she hadn't gotten it at all. And then noticed her problem. She didn't know what Santa Muerte was, and so she didn't understand why every card she got was a skeleton of some kind. Santa Muerte is a Mexican folk saint that is the personification of Death. So.. well, yes. In this particular deck, it is totally normal to get the Death card over and over. Needless to say, she was relieved to hear. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on and see if it's for you.

The reading begins with the Ace of Swords. If this is your reading, you have an opportunity wrapped up in a challenge right now. There is something for you to learn and understand, and you are being handed a Sword to do that. Sometimes, the Sword is used to battle something- and if so, you will win, though it will not be asy. Other times, it is used to cut a tie so that you can move on from something that is no longer serving you. You are coming up on a challenge, but you have a Sword on your side.

Next is The Star. This is a card of healing and finding inspiration again after a long time of feeling beaten down and lost. In Tarot, the Star comes after some of the most difficult cards. This is the soft landing on the other side of The Tower. Things fell apart, and now you are starting to heal and the energy is flowing again in your life. You are feeling more inspired and creative than you have in a long time. What was stuck is beginning to move with ease again.

The Wheel of Fortune is next bringing the powers of Fate into this reading. What is happening right now is meant to happen, hard as that may be. There is a larger pattern that you are a part of right now; sense to all that is happening. But while you experience it, it is not easy to have that perspective as the Wheel spins and the ground shifts constantly beneath your feet. Remember that the Wheel spins, and when you are in the place of challenge, you are likely to be heading Up the Wheel. There is a larger purpose to what is happening for you right now.

The key is the IV of Pentacles. It may be wise to lay low a bit. Draw some lines and boundaries and stay close to home. Take care of yourself and be peaceful. Find the stability in your life even as the Wheel spins. Know that things are going to get better and that you Will weather this storm. Slow your life down a bit if you can and agree to less right now as you get through this time of spinning and changes.

Here's what I see. If this is your reading, things have been hard for a really long time. You are now in a big challenge, and you are going to be successful if you keep moving forward. But it is hard and exhausting at times. The Sword you have is the luck and power that you need to make it through this. In fact, all signs point to you finally getting to the other side of this battle and healing after a long time of hardship. But it's not happening without a fight. Lay low for a little while as you make your way through this challenge and draw some lines. The most important card in this reading is The Star. You will feel better and you will be ok. This is going to pass. There's some bigger pattern to the whole thing, and the Wheel will soon spin the other way. You will feel energized and well and inspired again. But it is ok to put things on hold and take a break for now. May the Wheel spin you to The Star and the Sword serve you well.
