Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 5/11/26:

Is it strange to be drawn to my darkest Tarot deck in the Spring? I looked through my decks and was most pulled towards using The Black Tarot for this week's Iris X Reading. I love the stark black and white of this deck, as well as the symbolism and imagery. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I don't know who it is for. Maybe it's for you or someone you know. Sometimes, I find out later that it was for me! This is one of those readings that I will happily claim any day. May the season of green bring you health, wellness, and prosperity!

The reading begins with the X of Cups. It is the only Minor arcana card of the reading, so it is speaking to what things look like in your life. The next three cards will talk about the Major forces coming together to make it so. The X of Cups is a card of having it all. If this is your reading, you are rich in love and people. You are surrounded by the best people in your life, and you feel grateful for this all of the time. It is not to say that there are not challenges, but your focus in this reading appears to be what is going well. You worked long and hard to get to this place, and you are proud.

Temperance appears next, showing a delicate balance between extremes. In Temperance, you stay centered to avoid going too far into the black or white in your life. You are staying calm and tempering down tumultuous emotions as you do. You are refusing to be pulled around in your life, and you have found an inner sense of peace that you are not willing to let the world shake. In the tarot deck, Temperance stands between Death and the Devil. There is a lot that is extreme that is happening around you, and you remain centered- not getting pulled to one side or the other.

The Fool shows a new beginning that is coming in your life. This is a card of freedom and moving forward without a plan. You have a new stage of life coming up, and it is best for you to go with the flow. Be formless and let it be. Experiences along the way will shape you and the direction that you take. There are times when it is most wise to keep all options open and to let fate lead the way.

The key in this reading is The High Priestess. With this card, there is a doorway that is appearing. The High Priestess is a card about being in the in between space where you can find wisdom. Be quiet and calm, listening more than you speak. Follow your intuition and instincts. You will find that you know where to go. Step through the doorway, and everything changes. Find time to sit and be observant. Pay attention to all that is happening around you, and remember how to find a place where it is quiet and nothing is happening at all.

Here's what I see. This is a big reading with three Major arcana cards. If this is your reading, you feel full and grateful for all the things that you have. You are staying calm, and not letting life and other people pull your emotions around. You have learned to find a place of stillness where you can't be reached by unbalanced energy or people. You have the skill of tempering and not letting the world get you too much. You are coming up to a gateway, and heading on a new journey. If you follow your instincts and don't overthink it- it's going to lead you right where you want to be. Life is changing, and the best thing to do is to take the new beginning and let it lead you. You have a stable foundation with the people that you love, and that is allowing you to grow and evolve. Stay calm and pay close attention so that you know when to act and make a change. You can already feel that there is a shift coming. Keep your eyes and ears open and follow your instincts to find where you are going.
