Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 2/2/26:
Happy halfway point of Winter! This week, I am starting up my online Tarot class, 78 Days of Tarot. It is a class I used to teach constantly, and now I only run it once every year or two. It is the class that so many have said unlocked Tarot for them. I think that the reason for this is that the class focuses on intuition and relationship with the cards, as opposed to memorization. It is a journey- not a class. Let me know if you wish to join!
Today, I shuffled the Visconti Sforza Tarot- the roots of Tarot. This is a 14th century deck that I have been working with for 25 years. It is quite incredible- the imagery is painted with crushed up rubies and lapis lazuli stones that were made into vibrant ink colors. The images were painted on large tapestries. I shuffled one of the oldest Tarot decks that can be found in print and asked for a message for someone who will see this post. Read on- see if it's for you or someone that you know!
The reading begins with The Wheel of Fortune. This is a card of the powers of Fate. These are not powers which fall into the designation of 'good' or 'bad'- it simply represents what is. There is a larger pattern and plan to what seems random, and there are times that our lives are lining up to the pattern being woven by the Fates. If this is your reading, your life is upside down right now. Perhaps the Wheel spun.. or maybe you purposefully have spun it to change your fate. But now you feel dizzy and unsure of what is next. There is likely a larger pattern than you are currently not able to discern. Something quite important is happening if the Fateful powers came up first.
The II of Wands is next, showing a need for a plan. Things may feel like they are out of your control right now. All you can do is plan for the next step. See if you can pause to get a sense of your upcoming options. This is where you will have a choice. Decide where you are going and what you are looking to do. Be very strategic and organized and then take a step forward. The change is not avoidable- but how it will play out for you is in your power. You need a plan.
The VI of Cups shows you crossing a bridge into the next stage of your life. It is up to you what you choose to bring with you and what you leave behind. You are walking away from something, and doing all that you can to find the wisdom in the situation. Once you get to the other side of the bridge, you can choose to make different choices and create a whole different life for yourself. Everything will look different and you can start fresh with some wisdom from the past.
The key to this reading is Death. Death changes everything. One life is ending for you and another is beginning. Your old life is dying, and there will be a new life ahead. But, first you will feel a bit stunned. Death is extreme and permanent. You can move forward, but will never again be able to move backwards. A door is closing behind you that can't be opened again. And this is the key to the reading. Shutting the door to the past is what has to be done.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you are feeling stunned. Everything is up in the air and changing. The Wheel is spinning, fate is stepping in and you are flung into the air. You don't know where you are going or where you will land. You feel lost- but there is a larger pattern. That pattern is up to forces larger than you, even if you feel like you are in control. Make a plan and organize yourself for the things that can be controlled. Put your feet on the ground and come up with the first step. Decide what you want to keep in your life and what doesn't fit anymore. You can make changes that will completely shift everything for you- and that is the best thing to do right now. Put your old life to death so that your new life can begin. There is a point to all of this, even if you don't feel like there is.
