Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 1.26.26:
Greetings to the friends of Iris X Readings! I do hope everyone is doing ok in the storm out there. Snow and ice and chaos in more ways than one. Where I live, it looks like we will get a few feet of snow! Let's see- weather prediction is far more iffy than Tarot prediction in my opinion. ;) Stay warm and safe and off the roads. It's a good day to slow down, and so I decided to do today's reading on The Slow Tarot by Lacey Bryant (and influenced by a favorite tarot reader of mine- Drew Clark). I love working with this beautiful deck and it does remind me to slow down. I was told that the artist spent a lot of time crafting the Cups cards of the deck; researching by way of painting various types of special tea cups. I love the attention to detail and the dark whimsy of this deck. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I don't know who it will be for until it is posted- read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know!
The reading begins with The Ace of Cups, offering a full cup of roses here. If this is your reading, you have an opportunity right now. It could be a new person or relationship that is coming into your life. Or it could be something new that opens up your heart and emotions. It is an Ace, and when an Ace is handed to you- you should always take it. It is something new and you are not exactly sure what is in that cup yet, but it is guaranteed to be something that is good for you and your sense of wellbeing. The cup is overflowing with roses embodying both love and protection.
The Six of Swords appears next, showing you in the 'in between'. There is something that you have walked away from that was not good for you. You are still trying to get to the next place that you are going and you feel like you are on rocky waters trying to stay afloat. What you are leaving has been very challenging. It is something that took up all of your time and energy, and now that you have gotten away you don't really know where to be. You are still on the run from something and are seeking a safe landing.
The Lovers is next, showing the choice that you have in this situation. You have to follow your heart and inner guidance here. While the Lovers can represent a positive relationship, it also shows the free will and choice that you have. You could choose to put your heart into something else right now if you wish to. Nothing is happening that you don't have control over right now. Be very conscious of your choices and where you put your time, energy and love.
The key to this reading is the Ten of Swords. Fact is- you are really exhausted right now. You have been through an ordeal. The good news is that you are at the End of the suit, and it is wrapping up. The bad news is that you are not sure you are not going to bleed out. This has taken quite a toll on you, and you have had enough. This time is passing- you will not always feel like this.
Here's what I see. I could easily tell you to accept the Ace and take the opportunity for love in your life. But there are a few ways that this may look. Sometimes the opportunity is to take care of your heart and grow through spending time on your own. If someone new comes into your life, it is truly up to you. You have the choice of walking into a new relationship- and it looks like it could be a really positive one. But you also have the choice to rest and recover. You have been through a lot, and you haven't found a place to settle and be comfortable again yet. You still feel impaled by swords and pain. While a new connection with a person can be absolutely healing- so can space and time. This is where the lesser known element of choice in the Lovers comes up. You have your power and independence back, and I'm not going to tell you that you have to take an Ace and be in a new relationship. This is most certainly up to you. It is most important that you follow your heart and give yourself ample time to rest and recover. And then- sometimes things happen at the most inopportune times. If someone new materializes- perhaps, give them a chance. You still have choice and free will and can move at your own speed. There is much to recover from; and there are a lot of ways to do that.
