Iris X reading of the Week/Week beginning on 11/2/26

Every week I shuffle the cards and ask for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it is for. This is one of those times that I pulled the cards and thought.. damn. This reading isn't messing around. Its message is pretty stark and harsh. And it seems to be pointing to two different topics or people. I did this reading on the 1JJ Swiss Tarot. The reading begins with L'Amoureux (The Lovers). This is a card of connection and choice. In relationships this is a card of passion and love. It shows a couple that is making the choice to be together, and for me- it always foreshadows the challenges coming up. In tarot imagery, the card often shows a scene quite similar to the Devil. As if the couple got lost along the way. The Lovers always advises space to grow and accomplish one's own dreams and goals. Then, this card is about choice and having the freedom to do what you are meant to do in your life.

How easy it is to fall into traps. Le Diable (the Devil) is next showing a reversal of the situation. This is a card of being owned or possessed by someone or something. It is when we have lost our freedom and our own path and are pulled into something that isn't good for us anymore. In this reading, it doesn't look like it started that way. But this card shows the danger of love that becomes control and ownership. Or work that you choose for yourself that becomes a trap. This is a distinct shift of energy in the reading, and the answer is always in the devil himself. It is important to find the part of you that is free and will not be tamed by anyone.

La Maison De Dieu / The Tower wraps up this lovely trio with destruction. There is only so long that the energy of the Devil can build before it reaches a breaking point. This card shows destruction and loss. It is a card of shock and upset. It is about watching something that you spent time building come tumbling down. And the fact is that the foundation wasn't strong in the first place. The Tower makes you question everything you know and who you are. It was always the inevitable trajectory from The Devil. What isn't solid and secure breaks under the weight of so much darkness.

The key to this reading is Reine De Baton; the Queen of Wands. It is important to find your own power in this situation. Refuse to be dictated to. Take your wand and create the life you want to lead. Be unafraid of being fiery and independent- it is actually your key right now. Find the part of yourself that stands up and pushes back. Manage fire and keep your focus on your own goals no matter who you are with or what you are doing. This reading shows a distinct warning. This is the key and answer.

Here's what I see. This reading is not messing around. If this is your reading, you are in a situation or relationship that is turning from companionship to control. You feel like you can't do the things that you want to do, and it seems like the relationship or situation is starting to restrict your movements. What was good and peaceful is starting to turn difficult and toxic. Your energy is starting to drain, and the negative experiences are building up. And there's only so long that can happen before everything breaks altogether and falls apart. But this is not what Has to happen here. With the key of the Reine De Baton, you are being told to take control of the situation. Take your power back and pay close attention. L'Amoureux (Lovers) turns to Le Diable (Devil) when you are distracted. It doesn't happen all at once, it happens bit by bit by bit. Until you no longer recognize the situation that you are in or the person that you are with. Any good relationship should give you the space that you need to be who you are. It is about affection- not possession. If your goals are not a priority then stand up for yourself and fight back. Or the Lovers becomes the Devil and then it falls apart in The Tower. It's a well known story that many people live. You can avoid the whole thing by remaining strong and independent. No one owns you but yourself.
