Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 10/26/2026

Greetings to the friends of Iris X Readings! This week's reading is on an enchanting Tarot deck- the Fairy lights tarot. Every card is a part of a larger painting and each card has a match. It must have been an incredible challenge to create, and I love seeing how the cards appear in a reading. It's whimsical and interesting.. and I thought it would be a great Tarot deck to work with this week. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who these readings are for until they are posted. Sometimes it is for one person and sometimes for a bunch! Then there are the times that I post and later think... that was for me. You never know! Read on and see if this one's for you. This one is not quiet and peaceful.

The reading begins with The Devil. If this is your reading, you are trapped into a situation that is draining your power and energy. You are chained into something that is toxic and unhealthy. The solution with The Devil is often to become the Devil himself. To escape the situation that you are in, you are going to have to shake off the part of you that has become tame and in control. The answer is in rewilding- becoming who you were before the world tamed and shaped you so much. And then, to walk away from anything that is not aligned with you and who you are as a person. Refuse to be held back and woven into a trap.

The VI of Pentacles appears next and shows that there is an imbalance in your life. This is a card of give and take. Sometimes we are in the position of giving far more than the person or situation can give to us. The scales fall out of balance, and resentment can build up easily. You are in a situation right now that is not in balance. Either you are giving too much or taking too much; and given the cards in this reading it appears that you are the one that is giving. Matching energy is often wise as to not create a monster.. but the reading started with The Devil.

The X of Swords is next showing the end of a long and difficult cycle. If this is your reading, you are exhausted. So much so that it is hard to even see that you are completing a cycle. You will be able to move on soon and will feel better. But first, there is a lesson to learn and it appears that this lesson is about knowing when to cut a tie. To get this card, you had to walk through one of the most challenging suits of the Tarot deck. You feel beaten down and worn out. The only solution is to charge forward and do what you have to do.

The key to this reading is Judgment. This is a card of using our wisdom to make the best possible decision. You are feeling more clear than you have in a long time. You know what to do and how to escape your situation. Just like the image of this card, there is a horn being blasted in your face. You may feel like you are waking up after a long slumber and realizing that you could have left a long time ago. You have clarity as if someone just dumped ice water on your head. You know what to do. And now you have to actually do it.

Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you have been in a really rough situation for a very long time. You have given far more than you have received, and you are feeling like everything is out of balance. You have been doing this for so long that it just seems normal to you. You are used to just pushing through and knocking down every challenge because everything has felt like a fight for as long as you can remember. It feels like there's no solution. No way out. But now, things are becoming clear. Where you felt lost, you are starting to see a clear path ahead. One of my favorite quotes from Terry Pratchett applies here: “A witch sees through things and around things. A witch sees farther than most, a witch sees things from the other side. A witch knows where she is, who she is and when she is." Suddenly, you know what to do because you know who You are. And now, to end this long path of challenge, you have to be willing to take what you know and put it into action. Just knowing isn't enough, you have to use the swords flung at you to cut a tie. You have to put your foot down and refuse to be treated in a way that is out of balance. It is time to gather your swords and lessons and to move on and forward. You are tired of this and you finally know what to do. It's so easy that it is hard- but you can do this. You are just about there- at the very end of a long road. Go another mile and do what you have to.
