Iris X Reading of the Week: Week beginning on 10/6/2025:

Happy October to the friends of Iris X Readings! I know a lot of people think of this as 'spooky' season, but... I just love Autumn. It is a sacred time for me; often quiet and reflective (in the midst of work!). I remember ghosts both alive and not. I remember old friends; some with me still. Others have long passed. Some, I just don't have in my life anymore. I am nostalgic in October, remembering all kinds of situations- both good and bad; that have made me into who I am. And so, for me- it truly is a season of change, death, and rebirth. I am all of the versions of me that I have ever been; just with a lot more wisdom and discernment now. This reading was done on the Santa Muerte Tarot- a favorite of mine, year round. This is an impactful one- all Major arcana. Read on- see if it's for you.

This week's reading was done on a favorite of mine. The Santa Muerte Tarot. It is most definitely the season for this deck- but it's a favorite of mine year round. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it is for until it is posted and people respond! Read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know. This reading feels pretty pointed and blunt!

Wishing a Happy Autumn Equinox to the friends of Iris X. Liminal times and spaces are quite powerful and today, daytime and nighttime are equal. The balance is only momentary, as are all in between times, and we will see the weather and balance of light and dark change more every day. This is a time of harvest and gratitude for the work that has been done and the fruits of labor. May you and yours be blessed with abundance and wealth in all forms. I shuffled the Raven's Dream Tarot and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know. This reading is for someone who truly deserves to celebrate what they are harvesting in their life.

Anyone that knows me in the slightest knows that I have a love of Ravens. And so, when MJ Cullinane came out with The Raven's Dream Tarot- I had to have it. I worried that it would be a tall order for a deck to depict 78 different images of Ravens in Tarot language, but this deck is wonderful. Easily one of my favorites. The colors and the imagery are perfect,  and I never get sick of Raven images. I shuffled the Raven's Dream Tarot and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it is for until I post it. Read on- see if it's for you.

This week's reading was done on The Black Tarot by Victoria Iva. It is a deck that is meant to work with the 'shadow' side. I tend to work with it to light a way in the dark. While it is the Black Tarot, the stark white imagery is very striking. Besides, everything has a shadow and it cant be cast without light. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I don't know who the reading is for- read on and see if it's for you!

I have a lot of Tarot card decks. More than you think I have. I bring a big selection to events to let people choose; and that's not even a small percentage of my decks. I am a collector. They all have different personalities and ways of communicating. I have my favorites for sure, and I use them for different reasons. Today's reading was done on my first Tarot deck- The Universal Waite, illustrated by Pamela Coleman Smith. Because sometimes- you just need to talk to an old friend. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who sees this post. Read on and see if it's for you.

This week's reading was done on The Black Tarot by Victoria Iva. It is a Tarot deck that I bring often to events, though not many people choose it. I like to have a variety of decks to choose from because you learn a lot about a person by the deck that they intuitively choose. It seems to not be an easy thing to pick up an all black deck. I suppose it looks a bit ominous. I find this deck to be stunning and even jarring at times. It seems to speak loudly and doesn't mince words. Maybe that's why people don't often choose it! I shuffled The Black Tarot and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on and see if it's for you!

This week's reading was done on a deck that challenges me a bit. The Cary Yale Visconti Tarot is a 15th century Tarot deck and is one of the earliest decks that can be found in print. It is not a simple deck to get to know. There are no names or numbers on the cards, so I have to often put the cards back in order to remember which card is which! The Minor arcana is not illustrated in a way that is symbolic, and would not be for another few hundred years. It is often speaking in themes that I am unfamiliar with because I do not live in the 15th century. There are extra Pages and Knights for each suit! But, even with the challenges- I love old Tarot. There is something about the Visconti decks that really pulls in my curiosity and imagination. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on and see if it's for you!
