Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 8/14/23:



At this time of the year, I am usually inclined to work with the Plant based Tarot decks that I have. One of my favorites is The Herb Crafters Tarot. It is a gorgeous, colorful deck that has very thoughtful herbal associations. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I don't know who the reading is for; read on to see if it's for you! 


If this reading is for you, you are going through a major change in your life. Death is the first card of the reading, and shows an honor and respect for where you have been. Everything is different now; something that defined your life has ended or is turning into something else. You are still trying to find the ground under your feet, and are feeling reflective of the places you have been, and how things will not be the same now. 


Five of Air appears next, showing that there are ties that have been cut. There are things that need to be cleared and purified in your life. You had to walk away from something. You were running into a wall that was not going to change. You had to cut your losses and walk away. This is causing you a lot of discomfort as you process through what happened. 


The Six of Air comes up next and shows you in a space of the in-between for a while. You will be healing from the changes in your life, and will be struggling to ground yourself. You may feel lost for a while, like you don't know what to focus your energy or attention on. 


The Nine of Air is the key. Be kind to yourself. You are under a lot more anxiety and upset than you are showing to the outside world. You are trying to move forward without taking note of the upset that your challenges have caused in you. Be still and listen to your thoughts instead of pushing them away. There is wisdom to be gained here, even when you are feeling like this.


Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you had to cut a person or situation out of your life. It was a really hard decision, and you struggled to make it. You tried- but things were not working. This transition has been tough. You feel like you don't know what to do anymore- the situation that has ended was taking up a lot of your attention. You are struggling through a big change, and feel completely lost and aimless. The answer is simple. Take care of yourself. You just went through a really big ordeal and you are trying to act like it was not as hard on you as it was. Treat yourself as a person who has been through a really traumatic time. Be very kind to yourself, and take breaks as you need to. You are hiding that you are upset- but that doesn't stop you from feeling hurt.
