Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 5.29.23:

The Sun is shining and the weather is perfect- and so I was immediately drawn to The Herbcrafter's Tarot to work with for the reading today. It is an incredible deck with very thoughtful associations between plants and the Tarot cards. I shuffled a deck, and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. This particular person looks like they have been pushing through a hard time. Everything looks heavy and challenging, but there are some solutions in this reading that I believe will be helpful.

The reading begins with the Five of Earth/Slippery Elm. If this is your reading, you have really felt down. You are still moving forward- you have not given up. But you feel exhausted and like everything takes a lot of energy that you don't have. Slippery Elm is a wonderful medicine, but sometimes when you are feeling this heavy, it is tough to see help that is right in front of you. You are just making it through right now- not feeling very interested or excited about anything.

The Seven of Earth appears next and is represented by Oak. Oak is powerful- and so are you. You have been doing your best to be patient; planting seeds for the future and waiting for them to grow. You know that you can't rush things- everything moves at its own pace. You are doing your best to be intentional about your actions and understanding that things are not changing fast right now- but you are moving in the right direction.

Eight of Water/Valerian appears next. With this card, you feel like there is something for you to understand that you can only figure out alone. The best thing to do when you get this card is to take a walk in the woods or by the shore. Ask a question- and read the walk you take as an answer. With the Eight of Water, you know that you have your own answers- you just have to quiet the chatter in your life down enough so that you can find them.

The key to this reading is Temperance. Try to stay calm and to not look at things in terms of black and white. Everything is a process, and the good and bad are mixed up in Temperance. Be tempered, have a cup of tea, and don't try to push things. Stay away from extremes and don't expect everything to change all at once. Things will shift a little bit at a time, and before you know it you will be feeling better.

Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you have been feeling stuck and sad in your life. You are moving forward, but feeling a complete loss of energy and power. You know that there is probably help available, but you have not had time to even ask. You are doing your best to be patient, knowing that it can take a long time to heal. You are planting seeds, and trying to be intentional about where you are heading in the future. If I were you- I would spend some time alone looking for answers. See if you can take a few days off to go on a trip. Walk by the sea, and ask your questions. Above all- stay calm and balanced. Black doesn't turn to white, and the reality of life is that things are usually in the middle somewhere. Don't push yourself to heal faster than you are- and stay rooted to the earth.

Have a good week! If you need a reading this week, send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com
