This week's reading was done on the Cary Yale Visconti Tarot- a Tarot deck from the 15th century. It is one of the oldest decks that you can still get today. If you look through the deck, you will see that times and Tarot have changed. There are elements that are consistent with modern Tarot, but there are some major differences- namely, the Minor arcana lacking imagery that can be 'read.' Tarot has changed over the years, and part of the Magic of it is that it is always shifting with the times and the people that shuffle the cards. I asked the cards for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on- see if it is for you. The person that this reading is for needs to stay calm and avoid extremes.Â
The reading begins with the Moon, the card of the dreamer. If this is your reading, you may feel like you don't know what to expect. Every time you think you understand what is going on, everything shifts and changes into something new. You are trying to go with the flow of the cycles and patterns around you, but sometimes this is not easy. There are times that you feel like your energy is too high, and you are anxious. Other times, you feel like you are moving very slowly. There is something that you are dreaming into being.Â
The Knight of Swords comes up next showing you pushing very hard at times. You feel like you have to make things happen, even if you have to run through opposition to make it happen. You feel charged up and like you can't sit and wait for things to happen. You are often too busy, and eventually you end up feeling very tired.Â
At other times, you are the VII of Pentacles, understanding that you have to be patient. You have done a lot of work and planted the seeds for what you want to manifest in your life. You can't make things move faster than they move, and- there are times that you truly understand that you are planting seeds that will manifest in the future. It's ok if there is not a short term gain.Â
The key to this reading is Temperance. Bring it down a bit. You are going between extremes, and the best thing to do is to find a middle ground. Stay calm and centered. Don't push too hard and don't do too little. Do exactly enough and keep calm, mellow, and tempered.Â
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, there is something that you are trying to manifest or 'dream' into being. You are going back and forth between feeling like you have to push as hard as you can to make things happen- and feeling like you are patiently planting seeds that will manifest in the future. You are having a hard time finding an in between- and that is the best thing you can do. Bring your energy down to a place where you feel comfortable. Don't let circumstances force you into extremes. Mix up the dark and the light and keep yourself calm and balanced.Â
Have a great week! If you need a reading this week, send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com.Â
