Greetings to the friends of Iris X readings! I chose the Santa Muerte Tarot deck this week since the Day of the Dead celebrations are still happening in Mexico. As an amusing side note, I was recently reading cards at an event for someone who had never gotten her cards read and was nervous. I offered a number of decks to choose from, and she chose the Santa Muerte Tarot. It wasn't until the 9th card of the reading that she asked me why she was getting so many death cards. In this deck, every card features skulls and skeletons. She thought she was getting the nightmare reading for a new person- a reading of only Death cards. I explained the situation, and she felt much better. But I still feel bad that I forgot to tell her! I shuffled the Santa Muerte Tarot, and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Sometimes it is a reading for one person- and other times, it is a reading for everyone. Read on- see if it's for you!Â
The reading begins with the 8 of Wands. If this is your reading, you are waiting to hear back on something. The results are not yet in, and you have to wait. This is the card of anticipation and messages sent out and received. There can be a time delay- and then the information that you have been waiting for comes down all at once. You may be feeling a bit on edge while you wait.Â
The 9 of Pentacles appears next, with a bit of advice. While you wait for the incoming messages, you would be wise to be grounded and peaceful. The 9 of Wands is about finding peace and happiness in solitude. It may be a good week to spend some time in leisure with the plants and animals. Listening to the wind, breathing, and staying busy with small tasks may help you to feel grounded and calm. Slow down your pace to a puttering speed and keep your focus on projects.Â
The Wheel of Fortune comes up next and is the first Major arcana card. In the image, we can see a figure in black and a figure in white that are in a dead lock on the wheel of fate. The Wheel spins so fast that it can be hard to keep up with who is on top and who is on bottom. The spinning of the Wheel is related to the powers of Fate. The Wheel of Fortune is about the larger picture that is happening that is life changing. It is an impactful and auspicious time.Â
The key to this week is The Hermit. Take walks in the woods. Follow a blue jay. Read a lot of good books and stay calm and in balance. Disconnecting from the larger world around you may be the best thing that you can do right now. Spend time wandering long deserted roads and stay in your own world. The Hermit understands that some walks are really long, and the best thing to do is to keep on moving. Listen more and speak less.Â
Here's what I see. I am not going to lie here- while this may be related to personal circumstances, this reading may be for a lot of us. I can feel that it is for me too. We are all waiting to hear back on something that has been going on for a long time. We are going to be on edge, waiting to hear about results. It is easy to feel nervous under such circumstances. We are all being spun by the Wheel of Fortune and at this point, we are all quite dizzy. We know that something large is happening that will shift reality as we know it, but we can't tell which direction it will go until the anticipated messages of the 8 of Wands come down to the earth. One could stay glued to the news, just waiting to hear. The suggestion of the cards is to do something very different from that. Once the Wands are up in the air, all you can do is wait. Disconnect from your phone as much as you can. The news will still happen even if you are not immediately informed about it. See if you can find a good book to read. Take care of plants and animals. Stay grounded and present, and don't let the world pull you into a frenzy. The Hermit makes me think of the meme that says that there is some idiot somewhere sitting by a waterfall and listening to the wind in the leaves with no idea that any of this is happening. It may be a good week to do that. Stay off to yourself. Think before you speak. Take a long walk and sit under a tree. Hike a mountain and gaze at a river or a lake. Pick some apples and make a pie or take a walk in the cemetery. Get engrossed in a long-forgotten hobby or skill. Find some level of peace that can only come from being present in your immediate surroundings. Stay calm, grounded and at peace. Things are going to happen as they are meant to, with or without your vigilance.Â
If you need a reading this week, send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com. Have a good week and stay as mellow as can be.Â
