Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 11.28.22:

This week's reading was done on The Gold Foil Tarot- a version of the Rider Waite/Pamela Coleman Smith that is particularly shiny! I shuffled the cards, and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on, and see if it's for you!

The reading begins with the II of Swords- a card of holding back. If this is your reading, you have been in a reflective, meditative state. You have been quieter than usual, holding back what you want to say, and looking primarily on the inside. This is a time of rest, often due to challenges in your life. Sometimes, you just need a break. You have been taking that break in a way that is good for your soul.

Justice comes up next, bringing in truth and accountability. When we look inside, often what we see is ourselves and our own involvement in the things that have caused us harm. Justice is not about seeing things as we want them to be, but seeing them as they are. There are two sides to every story, and your perspective has been coming to a place of balance. You are taking responsibility, and deciding what you can let go of.

VI of Cups wraps up the week with the advice to leave the past in the past. You are moving on, and changing your life. Your future is in your hands, and you can determine what you wish to bring with you to the future that you are building for yourself. There are some things that are best reflected on, and then left behind. Your life will be different moving forward- and you have been thinking about what you are leaving behind.

The key to this reading is The Devil. You have had something holding you back and chaining you in. The only person that can see this and make a change is you. It seems that there has been something that has been causing you harm and upset for quite a long time. The key of the Devil is about refusing to be held back or trapped. It is about taking back power that you gave away in the past.

Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you left behind a situation or a person that was trapping you and causing your power and energy to drain. Since then, you have been in a time of pause- you have been reflecting on the situation and all of the sides of it. You have given yourself a break to look inside, and you have learned a lot from this. Some of what you have learned may be the things that are draining your power. Stop beating yourself up over mistakes in the past. Take responsibility, be accountable, and then- leave it in the past. Nothing is going to be the same in your future, and you want to build on a solid foundation. Look back on the past, but don't stay there too long.
