Greetings to the friends of Iris X Readings. When I do a Tarot event, I allow the people that I read for to choose the deck that they work with. When it's just me, the deck that I work with is very mood dependent. Sometimes I want to be light and understood, and other times I don't mind the more obscure cards. The Cary Yale Visconti Tarot is the deck that I did the weekly reading on. It is one of the oldest Tarot decks that you can get in print, and it is not a comforting deck per se. Perhaps it is due to the time period that it came up in, It is said to have been created sometime between 1442 and 1447. It was a tough time in history, and I have found that the oldest decks speak well and clearly to tumultuous times. They have seen worse. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on, and see if it's for you! The reading begins with The Wheel of Fortune. This is a card of Fate and speaks to the larger meaning or picture. If this is your reading, you may feel like everything has been thrown up in the air. Things are changing and they are changing fast. You are doing all that you can to hold onto the spinning wheel. Sometimes things are up and other times they are down. The powers of Fate are hard to understand at times. It is easy to feel spun and turned around and around. This is a reminder that there are larger forces at play, and there may be more to the situation that is still not seen.Â
The IV of Swords appears next in the reading, showing a time for a break. When people get this card, they often have the feeling of 'waiting for the other shoe to drop.' Things have gotten bad, and you are frozen and waiting to see if they get worse or improve. This is a card of self protection and knowing when to take a break to rest and heal. It is a IV, which means that this rest will help you to feel like you are on solid ground again.Â
The III of Swords appears next, which is a card of heartbreak and sadness. Often, the swords are an understanding or a truth that cuts through you and hits you in the heart. You are feeling a sense of loss, and you may even be depressed. There are things that when you know, you can't unknow. The truth as 3 swords to the card is not comfortable. You are sitting with pain right now. You feel crushed.Â
The key to this reading is the VI of Pentacles. It is important to know when to be the one asking for help and the one offering help. This is a card of service, and you may feel like you need to reach out to people right now. That may be hard for you. Often, people that get this card are the ones to help others, and then when it is time for them to ask for help, they don't want to. Know when to reach out to people that can give you a hand when you need it.Â
Here's what I see. This isn't an easy reading. There is something that is happening that is meant to be on some level. This doesn't make it feel good and easy though. You are feeling flipped around and upside down. You are not quite sure which end is up. You are trying to give yourself a break, but you feel like the hits keep coming. You are not getting the break that you need, though you are surely trying. You feel heartbroken and like a truth of some kind has hit you in the heart and shattered it. You are despondent and hopeless, and you don't know what to do other than to sit with your feelings. The key to this reading though, is knowing when you need help. You may have to switch from where you normally are in the giving position and come to the place of receiving help. If it makes you feel better to accept help from someone else, offer the same to someone less fortunate than you are. Sometimes when your heart is broken, it is good medicine to work to heal someone else's heart. It seems like you have to get in a cycle or pattern of giving and receiving help. It is a strange time, the Wheel is turning and the powers of Fate are engaged. Take a break when you are able to, and if the truths hit you in the heart, know when to reach out a hand for someone to take.Â
Take care in this strange time. May you and yours be safe and well. If you need a reading this week, send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com.Â
