Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 12/22/25:
It's a busy week, but I am available on Wednesday and Friday for readings- and you can still get gift certificates for the holidays! I highly recommend the New Year's reading at this time of the year which focuses on every month of 2026 in your life. This week's reading was done on the Joie de Vivre Tarot by Paulina Cassidy. This is my favorite Tarot deck for times that are dark and heavy. It is dark in more ways than one these days- my hope is that these bright cards shine a light. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who the reading is for until I post it- read on and see if it's for you.
The reading begins with the Knight of Swords. If this is your reading, you are Busy. And not only that, but you feel like you're spinning your wheels and even moving in the wrong direction. Everything feels hard. This is a card of moving in a way that is not necessarily healthy. You are being pushed to move at top speed and are feeling really exhausted. It has been going on like this for a while, and you need to rest.
But rest is not in the cards unless you make it so. The Seven of Wands appears next showing you trying to just stay up and on top of everything that you are responsible for. You are really overwhelmed. In fact- in some Tarot decks, the main character of this card wears two different shoes. If you have ever left the house like this, you know that it is a sign that your attention is going in too many directions right now. It is also a sign that you are Stretched and living in two worlds at once. You are just trying to get up and over the tasks coming your way. You feel like you are putting out fires.
The Three of Coins is next showing a need for cooperation. Everyone has to help and do their part. This is the card about working together with the people in your life to accomplish goals and tasks. It is about the expectations that other people have for us, and the need to meet what is expected of you. The Three of Coins is also about teamwork and the very important (and different) roles that everyone has.
The key to this reading is the Eight of Cups. This is an image of someone floating away with balloons. Take a break if you need to. Something may feel off or like it's not coming together as you would like it to. You may need some space moving into this week, and it may be the key to making you feel better. Step away from everything. Don't be social if you don't want to be. Float off into the night. Nothing chains you to the earth- you can do what you need to do to stay at peace.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you are moving far too fast. You feel rushed and like you can't get anything done. You are spinning your wheels, wasting time and feeling stressed. You have too much going on and you are overwhelmed. It has been going like this for quite some time, and you feel like you need people to cooperate with you. You always feel like you are running into resistance. Everything feels challenging and complicated. You need to be able to ask for help so that you don't always feel like you are alone. You are moving as fast as you possibly can- and still not getting everything done. It's time to hit pause and take a break. Take a short walk if you can't make a long trip away happen. Sometimes, you just have to throw up your hands, back up slowly- and see if someone picks up the slack. Give yourself some space. Your first two cards in this reading speak of you being stressed, busy and overwhelmed, and the third gives you a solution. There are people to help. Float off, don't do everything- and see what happens.
If you need a reading this week, I have openings on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. I will be at Tavernier Chocolates on 12/27 doing New Year's readings too! Send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com to set up a time!
